Deuteronomy 1:32

Yet in this thing ye did not believe the Lord your God.
] That they might go up and possess the land at once, and that he would fight for them, and subdue their enemies under them; or notwithstanding the favours bestowed upon them, and because of them, they did not believe in the Lord their God, and which was a great aggravation of their unbelief, and was the cause of their not entering into the good land, ( Hebrews 3:19 ) .

30 L'Eternel, votre Dieu, qui marche devant vous, combattra lui-même pour vous, selon tout ce qu'il a fait pour vous sous vos yeux en Egypte,

31 puis au désert, où tu as vu que l'Eternel, ton Dieu, t'a porté comme un homme porte son fils, pendant toute la route que vous avez faite jusqu'à votre arrivée en ce lieu.

32 Malgré cela, vous n'eûtes point confiance en l'Eternel, votre Dieu,

33 qui allait devant vous sur la route pour vous chercher un lieu de campement, la nuit dans un feu afin de vous montrer le chemin où vous deviez marcher, et le jour dans une nuée.

34 L'Eternel entendit le bruit de vos paroles. Il s'irrita, et jura, en disant:
