When someone invites us over for dinner, there are some common courtesies that we generally abide by. Maybe we’re asked to take off our shoes before entering so we do, and we don’t just open their fridge and have at it, we politely ask them first. Today on Sound Doctrine we turn to Matthew chapter 22, where we learn that we’ve been invited to the greatest feast of all time. But you can’t come your own way, you must come God’s way.

We receive invitations all the time. Whether it be to go out to dinner with friends or something a little more formal like to a wedding. Rejection is difficult to deal with but it’s to be expected. With that said we shouldn’t lose heart but keep reaching out with the gospel because the stakes are high. In Matthew chapter twenty-two Jesus tells a parable to teach what is indeed at stake.
