a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.

When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. âWhy this waste?â they asked.

âThis perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.â

Aware of this, Jesus said to them,
âWhy are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus
14 Then one of the Twelveâthe one called Judas Iscariotâwent to the chief priests

and asked, âWhat are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?â So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver.

From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
The Last Supper
17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, âWhere do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?â

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.
