Exodus 15:10

10 You blew with all your might and the sea covered them. They sank like a lead weight in the majestic waters.

Exodus 15:10 Meaning and Commentary

Exodus 15:10

Thou didst blow with thy wind
A strong east wind, ( Exodus 14:22 ) which is the Lord Christ's, who has it in his treasury, holds it in his fists, sends it out as he pleases, and it fulfils his word and will: the sea covered them;
which stood up in an heap as a wall to let Israel pass through, and fell down with all its waves and billows with great force upon the Egyptians, and covered and drowned them: they sunk as lead in the mighty waters;
which is a very heavy metal, and, being cast into the water, sinks to the bottom at once, as did the Egyptians in the Red sea, and as Babylon the great will, and never rise more, ( Revelation 18:21 ) .

Exodus 15:10 In-Context

8 At a blast from your nostrils the waters piled up; Tumbling streams dammed up, wild oceans curdled into a swamp.
9 The enemy spoke, "I'll pursue, I'll hunt them down, I'll divide up the plunder, I'll glut myself on them; I'll pull out my sword, my fist will send them reeling."
10 You blew with all your might and the sea covered them. They sank like a lead weight in the majestic waters.
11 Who compares with you among gods, O God? Who compares with you in power, in holy majesty, In awesome praises, wonder-working God?
12 You stretched out your right hand and the Earth swallowed them up.
