1 John 2:25-29

The Promise Is Eternal Life

25 ¹This is the promise which He Himself ^[a]made to us: eternal life.

26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to ²deceive you.

27 As for you, the ³anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing ⁴teaches you about all things, and is ⁵true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, ^[b]you abide in Him.

28 Now, ⁶little children, abide in Him, so that when He ⁷appears, we may have ⁸confidence and ⁹not ^[c]shrink away from Him in shame ^[d]at His ¹⁰coming.

29 If you know that ¹¹He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness ¹²is ^[e]born of Him.
