Introduction, The Incarnate Word

1 What was ¹from the beginning, what we have ²heard, what we have ³seen with our eyes, what we ⁴have looked at and ⁵touched with our hands, concerning the ⁶Word of Life -

2 and ⁷the life was manifested, and we have ⁸seen and ⁹testify and proclaim to you ¹⁰the eternal life, which was ¹¹with the Father and was ¹²manifested to us-

3 what we have ¹³seen and ¹⁴heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our ¹⁵fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
