13 "Go at once to King David and say to him, 'Have you not, my lord , O king, sworn to your maidservant, saying, "Surely Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he shall sit on my throne "? Why then has Adonijah become king?'
17 She said to him, "My lord , you swore to your maidservant by the LORD your God, saying, 'Surely your son Solomon shall be king after me and he shall sit on my throne.'
30 surely as I vowed to you by the LORD the God of Israel, saying, 'Your son Solomon shall be king after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my place '; I will indeed do so this day."
23 Then King Solomon swore by the LORD , saying, "May God do so to me and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life. 24 "Now therefore, as the LORD lives, who has established me and set me on the throne of David my father and who has made me a house as He promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today."
26 Then to Abiathar the priest the king said, "Go to Anathoth to your own field, for you deserve to die; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before my father David, and because you were afflicted in everything with which my father was afflicted."
2 The people were still sacrificing on the high places, because there was no house built for the name of the LORD until those days.
1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, when he heard that they had anointed him king in place of his father, for Hiram had always been a friend of David.
27 "But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built!
35 "When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and confess Your name and turn from their sin when You afflict them, 36 then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your servants and of Your people Israel, indeed, teach them the good way in which they should walk. And send rain on Your land, which You have given Your people for an inheritance. 37 "If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, locust or grasshopper, if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is,
44 "When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way You shall send them, and they pray to the LORD toward the city which You have chosen and the house which I have built for Your name,
46 "When they sin against You (for there is no man who does not sin ) and You are angry with them and deliver them to an enemy, so that they take them away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near;
64 On the same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD , because there he offered the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings; for the bronze altar that was before the LORD was too small to hold the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings.
9 Now the LORD was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned away from the LORD , the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
22 Then Pharaoh said to him, "But what have you lacked with me, that behold, you are seeking to go to your own country?" And he answered, "Nothing; nevertheless you must surely let me go."
21 and he cried to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, "Thus says the LORD , 'Because you have disobeyed the command of the LORD , and have not observed the commandment which the LORD your God commanded you,
1 Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD , the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word."
7 It happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.
12 But she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I have no bread, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar; and behold, I am gathering a few sticks that I may go in and prepare for me and my son, that we may eat it and die."
15 Elijah said, "As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today."
27 It came about at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, "Call out with a loud voice, for he is a god; either he is occupied or gone aside, or is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and needs to be awakened."
2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time."
7 The angel of the LORD came again a second time and touched him and said, "Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you."
5 Then the messengers returned and said, "Thus says Ben-hadad, 'Surely, I sent to you saying, "You shall give me your silver and your gold and your wives and your children,"
7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said, "Please observe and see how this man is looking for trouble; for he sent to me for my wives and my children and my silver and my gold, and I did not refuse him."
2 Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, "Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden because it is close beside my house, and I will give you a better vineyard than it in its place; if you like , I will give you the price of it in money."
6 So he said to her, "Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite and said to him, 'Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you a vineyard in its place.' But he said, 'I will not give you my vineyard.' "
29 "Do you see how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the evil in his days, but I will bring the evil upon his house in his son's days."
8 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD , but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. He is Micaiah son of Imlah." But Jehoshaphat said, "Let not the king say so."
14 But Micaiah said, "As the LORD lives, what the LORD says to me, that I shall speak."
