Luke 17:11-19

Listen to Luke 17:11-19

Ten Lepers Cleansed

11 While He was 1on the way to Jerusalem, 2He was passing between * Samaria and Galilee.
12 As He entered a village, ten leprous men who 3stood at a distance met Him;
13 and they raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, 4Master, have mercy on us!"
14 When He saw them, He said to them, "5Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they were going, they were cleansed.
15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, 6glorifying God with a loud voice,
16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a 7Samaritan.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine -where are they?
18 "Was no one found who returned to 8give glory to God, except this foreigner?"
19 And He said to him, "Stand up and go; 9your faith has made you well."

Thanksgiving Is Two Directional
Thanksgiving Is Two Directional
Pastor Jack Morris

On today’s Healing Word broadcast, Pastor Jack Morris shares a message titled Thanksgiving Is Two Directional. Rooted in Luke 17:11–19, this passage tells the story of ten lepers who cried out to Jesus for healing—and how only one of them returned to give thanks.Pastor Jack reminds us that true thanksgiving isn’t complete until it moves in two directions: upward, in gratitude to God, and outward, in the way we live and serve others. Gratitude is more than words—it’s a lifestyle that reflects our awareness of God’s mercy and our willingness to act in response to it.

Where Are the Nine
Where Are the Nine
Pastor Jack Morris

Giving praise and thanks to God is the focus of this week’s messages on the Healing Word. Today Pastor Jack Morris is going to look at ten lepers in the New Testament that were healed by Jesus that will illustrate the importance of giving thanks. Luke 17:17-19 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Luke 17:11-19 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
