Young's Literal Translation
When they lifted up their eyes at a distance and did not recognize him, they raised their voices and wept. And each of them tore his robe and they threw dust over their heads toward the sky.
"The prisoners are at ease together; They do not hear the voice of the taskmaster.
"The roaring of the lion and the voice of the fierce lion, And the teeth of the young lions are broken.
"It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance; A form was before my eyes; There was silence, then I heard a voice:
"If I called and He answered me, I could not believe that He was listening to my voice.
"Sounds of terror are in his ears; While at peace the destroyer comes upon him.
"They sing to the timbrel and harp And rejoice at the sound of the flute.
When He set a limit for the rain And a course for the thunderbolt ,
The voice of the nobles was hushed, And their tongue stuck to their palate.
"Therefore my harp is turned to mourning, And my flute to the sound of those who weep.
"Surely you have spoken in my hearing, And I have heard the sound of your words:
"But if you have understanding, hear this; Listen to the sound of my words.
"Listen closely to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.
"After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.
"God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.
"Who has cleft a channel for the flood, Or a way for the thunderbolt ,
"Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, So that an abundance of water will cover you?
"With shaking and rage he races over the ground, And he does not stand still at the voice of the trumpet.
"Or do you have an arm like God, And can you thunder with a voice like His?
