Young's Literal Translation
according to the custom of the priestly office, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
Zacharias said to the angel, "How will I know this for certain? For I am an old man and my wife is advanced in years."
And Mary said, "Behold, the bondslave of the Lord ; may it be done to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.
And when the days for their purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
and to offer a sacrifice according to what was said in the Law of the Lord , "A PAIR OF TURTLEDOVES OR TWO YOUNG PIGEONS."
"Now Lord , You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, According to Your word;
When they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord , they returned to Galilee, to their own city of Nazareth.
Now His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover.
And when He became twelve, they went up there according to the custom of the Feast;
And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.
"Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.
"Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.
Soon afterwards , He began going around from one city and village to another, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God. The twelve were with Him,
When a large crowd was coming together, and those from the various cities were journeying to Him, He spoke by way of a parable:
And the demons came out of the man and entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
"Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you." So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
But Jesus said to him, "Do not hinder him; for he who is not against you is for you."
Turning to the disciples, He said privately , "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see,
'Give us each day our daily bread.
"He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters.
And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem.
"Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendor every day.
"It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,
and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.
"While I was with you daily in the temple, you did not lay hands on Me; but this hour and the power of darkness are yours."
But they kept on insisting, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee even as far as this place."
and said to them, "You brought this man to me as one who incites the people to rebellion, and behold, having examined Him before you, I have found no guilt in this man regarding the charges which you make against Him
Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
