But Jesus answering said to him, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he permitted Him.
But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.' "
Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and report to John what you hear and see:
But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;
But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?"
Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.

"And he answered, 'I will not'; but afterward he regretted it and went.
"The man came to the second and said the same thing; and he answered, 'I will, sir '; but he did not go.
But Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God.
No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him another question.
And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you.
"But the prudent answered, 'No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'
"But he answered, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.'
"But his master answered and said to him, 'You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed.
"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord , when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?
"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
"Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord , when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?'
"Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
And He answered, "He who dipped his hand with Me in the bowl is the one who will betray Me.
The high priest stood up and said to Him, "Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?"
what do you think?" They answered, "He deserves death!"
And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He did not answer.
And He did not answer him with regard to even a single charge, so the governor was quite amazed.
