1 Kings 6:13

13 I will live among the Israelites in this Temple, and I will never leave my people Israel."

1 Kings 6:13 Meaning and Commentary

1 Kings 6:13

And I will dwell among the children of Israel
In this house now building, and which was in the middle of the land, and where he would meet with them, and accept their sacrifices, not only of slain beasts, but of prayer and praise:

and will not forsake my people Israel;
and leave them to the mercy of their enemies, and to be carried captive by them, but protect and defend them.

1 Kings 6:13 In-Context

11 The Lord said to Solomon:
12 "If you obey all my laws and commands, I will do for you what I promised your father David.
13 I will live among the Israelites in this Temple, and I will never leave my people Israel."
14 So Solomon finished building the Temple.
15 The inside walls were covered from floor to ceiling with cedar boards. The floor was made from pine boards.
