Psalms 106:35 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 106:35

But were mingled among the Heathen
Not only dwelt among them, but made covenants and contracts, carried on trade and commerce, and intermarried with them, contrary to the express law of God, ( Deuteronomy 7:2-4 ) . Nor should saints have communion with wicked men, especially in things sinful and superstitious, ( 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 ) ( Ephesians 5:11 ) .

And learned their works;
not their civil works and actions, their trades and business, but their idolatrous works; of which a detail is given in the following verses: "evil communications corrupt good manners", ( 1 Corinthians 15:33 ) .

Psalms 106:35 In-Context

33 The people turned against the Spirit of God, so Moses spoke without stopping to think.
34 The people did not destroy the other nations as the Lord had told them to do.
35 Instead, they mixed with the other nations and learned their customs.
36 They worshiped other nations' idols and were trapped by them.
37 They even killed their sons and daughters as sacrifices to demons.
