The sons of Levi, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. ] Which is repeated from ( 1 Chronicles 6:1 ) for the sake of their posterity, whose names are given in the three following verses, in the same manner as in ( Exodus 6:17-19 ) .

Jehozadak was taken away from his own land. The LORD took the people of Judah and Jerusalem to Babylonia. He used Nebuchadnezzar to take them there as prisoners.

The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath and Merari.

The names of the sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimei.

The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
