Deuteronomy 11:23

23 Then the LORD will drive out all of the nations to make room for you. They are larger and stronger than you are. But you will take their land.

Deuteronomy 11:23 Meaning and Commentary

Deuteronomy 11:23

Then will the Lord drive out all those nations from before
you
By little and little, even all the seven nations which then inhabited the land of Canaan; and this he would do to make room for them, that they might inherit the land; see ( Deuteronomy 7:1 )

and ye shall possess greater nations, and mightier than yourselves;
countries whose inhabitants were more in number, and greater in strength, than they; and therefore the conquest of them was not to be ascribed to themselves, but to the Lord; this is often observed; see ( Deuteronomy 7:1 ) ( 9:1 ) .

Deuteronomy 11:23 In-Context

21 Then you and your children will live for a long time in the land. The LORD took an oath and promised to give the land to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Your family line will continue as long as the heavens remain above the earth.
22 So be careful. Obey all of the commands I'm giving you to follow. Love the LORD your God. Live exactly as he wants you to live. Remain true to him.
23 Then the LORD will drive out all of the nations to make room for you. They are larger and stronger than you are. But you will take their land.
24 Every place you walk on will belong to you. Your territory will go all the way from the desert to Lebanon. It will go from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea.
25 No man will be able to stand up against you. The LORD your God will throw the whole land into a panic because of you. He'll do it everywhere you go, just as he promised you.
