Ver. 38-42. And the sons of Seir
This man and his posterity were not of the race of Esau, but are mentioned because they were a family into which Esau, and a son of his, married, and whose possessions he and his obtained. The account from hence, to the end of ( 1 Chronicles 1:42 ) is the same with ( Genesis 36:20-28 ) , with some little variation of names.

37 The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

39 And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Homam; Lotan's sister was Timna.

40 The sons of Shobal were Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon were Ajah and Anah.
