2 Chronicles 31:21 Meaning and Commentary

2 Chronicles 31:21

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of
God
In cleansing the temple, providing sacrifices, placing the priests and Levites order, taking care of the maintenance of them,

and in the law and in the commandments;
in the observation of all the laws, statutes, and judgments of God, moral, ceremonial, and judicial:

to seek his God;
and serve and worship him, and therein his honour and glory:

he did it with all his heart;
in the most cordial, sincere, and upright manner:

and prospered;
he succeeded in all he undertook, God being with him, and blessing him in his civil and religious concerns.

2 Chronicles 31:21 In-Context

19 As for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who were living in the open villages around the towns, men were appointed by name to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to all the Levites listed in the genealogical records.
20 In this way, King Hezekiah handled the distribution throughout all Judah, doing what was pleasing and good in the sight of the LORD his God.
21 In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.
