Job 39:22 Meaning and Commentary

Job 39:22

He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted
At those things which cause fear and fright to men; as arms, though ever so terrible, and armies, though never so numerous;

neither turneth he back from the sword;
the naked sword, when it is drawn against him, and ready to be thrust into him; the horse being so bold and courageous was with the Egyptians a symbol of courage and boldness F22.

21 It paws the earth and rejoices in its strength when it charges out to battle.
22 It laughs at fear and is unafraid. It does not run from the sword.
23 The arrows rattle against it, and the spear and javelin flash.
24 It paws the ground fiercely and rushes forward into battle when the ram’s horn blows.
