Psalms 135:2

2 you that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.

Psalms 135:2 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 135:2

Ye that stand in the house of the Lord
That have a place and standing there, and go not out, being sons as well as servants; (See Gill on Psalms 134:1) and (See Gill on Psalms 84:4);

in the courts of the house of our God;
alluding to the courts in the temple, the court of the priests, where they stood and ministered, slaying and offering their sacrifices; and the great court, where all the Israelites stood and worshipped, ( 2 Chronicles 4:9 ) . So this may describe the worshippers of God in common, who should praise him: and happy are they that have a place here; see ( Psalms 84:1 Psalms 84:2 Psalms 84:10 ) .

Psalms 135:2 In-Context

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord; give praise, O servants of the Lord,
2 you that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing to his name, for he is gracious.
4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession.
5 For I know that the Lord is great; our Lord is above all gods.
