38 Si prestas atención a lo que te digo y sigues mis caminos y haces todo lo que yo considero correcto, y si obedeces mis decretos y mandatos, como lo hizo mi siervo David, entonces siempre estaré contigo. Estableceré una dinastía duradera para ti, como lo hice con David, y te entregaré Israel.

1 Kings 11:38

And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command
thee
And be obedient thereunto:

and wilt walk in my ways;
directed to in the law of Moses:

and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes, and my
commandments;
those particularly respecting divine worship:

as David my servant did;
who very diligently and constantly attended to the ordinances of religion:

that I will be with thee;
to guide and direct, protect and defend, prosper and succeed:

and build thee a sure house, as I built for David;
continue the succession of the kingdom in his posterity:

and will give Israel unto thee; to rule over them.

36 Su hijo tendrá una tribu para que los descendientes de David, mi siervo, sigan reinando y, como una lámpara, brillen en Jerusalén, la ciudad que he escogido para que sea el lugar para mi nombre.

37 Te pondré a ti en el trono de Israel, y gobernarás todo lo que tu corazón desee.

39 Por causa del pecado de Salomón, castigaré a los descendientes de David, aunque no para siempre”».

40 Salomón intentó matar a Jeroboam, pero él huyó a Egipto, donde reinaba Sisac, y se quedó allí hasta la muerte de Salomón.
