4 Cuando Jeroboam oyó al hombre de Dios hablar contra el altar de Betel, el rey lo señaló con el dedo y gritó: «¡Detengan a ese hombre!»; pero al instante, la mano del rey se paralizó en esa posición, y no podía moverla.

1 Kings 13:4

And it came to pass, when King Jeroboam heard the saying of the
man of God, who had cried against the altar in Bethel
He was highly provoked: so that he put forth his hand from the altar; on which he was burning incense:

saying, lay hold on him;
he put forth his hand, and either shook it at the prophet, threatening what he would do to him; or as beckoning to the people to seize him, and which he also expressed:

and his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he
could not pull it in again to him;
he could not move it one way nor another, but it remained in the same position, the nerves and muscles being shrunk; which was a further confirmation of the prophet's mission from God, being one of those concerning whom he says, "do my prophets no harm", and a fresh token of the certain performance of what he had said.

2 Luego, por mandato del Señor
, el hombre de Dios gritó: «¡Oh altar, altar! Esto dice el Señor
: “En la dinastía de David nacerá un niño llamado Josías, quien sacrificará sobre ti a los sacerdotes de los santuarios paganos que vienen aquí a quemar incienso, y sobre ti se quemarán huesos humanos”».

3 Ese mismo día, el hombre de Dios dio una señal para demostrar que su mensaje era verdadero y dijo: «El Señor
ha prometido dar una señal: este altar se partirá en dos, y sus cenizas se derramarán en el suelo».

4 Cuando Jeroboam oyó al hombre de Dios hablar contra el altar de Betel, el rey lo señaló con el dedo y gritó: «¡Detengan a ese hombre!»; pero al instante, la mano del rey se paralizó en esa posición, y no podía moverla.

5 En ese mismo momento, se produjo una enorme grieta en el altar y las cenizas se desparramaron, tal como el hombre de Dios había predicho en el mensaje que recibió del Señor
.

6 Entonces el rey clamó al hombre de Dios: «¡Te ruego que le pidas al Señor
tu Dios que me restaure la mano!». Así que el hombre de Dios oró al Señor
, y la mano quedó restaurada y el rey pudo moverla otra vez.
