1 Kings 3:10

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this
thing.
] Understanding in the affairs of civil government; since he had respect not to his own private benefit and advantage, but the good of the people he governed, and the honour and glory of God, who had set him over them, they being his chosen people, and whose vicegerent he was.

8 Sin embargo, aquí estoy en medio de tu pueblo escogido, ¡una nación tan grande y numerosa que no se puede contar!
9 Dame un corazón comprensivo para que pueda gobernar bien a tu pueblo, y sepa la diferencia entre el bien y el mal. Pues, ¿quién puede gobernar por su propia cuenta a este gran pueblo tuyo?
10 Al Señor le agradó que Salomón pidiera sabiduría.
11 Así que le respondió:
—Como pediste sabiduría para gobernar a mi pueblo con justicia y no has pedido una larga vida, ni riqueza, ni la muerte de tus enemigos,
12 ¡te concederé lo que me has pedido! Te daré un corazón sabio y comprensivo, como nadie nunca ha tenido ni jamás tendrá.
