8 Entonces Saúl movilizó a todo su ejército para marchar hacia Keila y sitiar a David y a sus hombres.

1 Samuel 23:8

And Saul called all the people together to war
Or "caused [them] to hear" F13 summoned them by an herald, whom he sent into all parts of the kingdom to proclaim war, and require them in his name to attend him; which was the prerogative of a king to do:

to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men;
that was what he privately intended, but the pretence was to make war against the Philistines.

6 Cuando Abiatar, hijo de Ahimelec, huyó a donde estaba David en Keila, se llevó consigo el efod.
7 Pronto Saúl se enteró de que David estaba en Keila. «¡Excelente! —exclamó—. ¡Ya lo tenemos! Dios me lo entregó en mis manos, porque se ha quedado atrapado en una ciudad amurallada».
8 Entonces Saúl movilizó a todo su ejército para marchar hacia Keila y sitiar a David y a sus hombres.
9 Pero David se enteró de los planes de Saúl y le dijo a Abiatar el sacerdote que trajera el efod para consultar con el Señor
.
10 Entonces David oró:
—Oh Señor
, Dios de Israel, he oído que Saúl piensa venir a Keila y destruirla porque yo estoy aquí.
