3 Su padre había dado a cada uno de ellos regalos valiosos de plata, oro y objetos costosos, y también les dio algunas de las ciudades fortificadas de Judá; pero designó a Yoram para que fuera el siguiente rey porque era el hijo mayor.

2 Chronicles 21:3

And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold,
and of precious things
As jewels and precious stones; or precious garments, as the Targum, in like manner as Abraham gave to his sons, when he sent them from Isaac: with fenced cities in Judah;
not as their own property, but he appointed them governors in them, to defend them against an enemy, and as a mark of honour to them: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram,
because he was the firstborn; strictly observing the law in ( Deuteronomy 21:16 Deuteronomy 21:17 ) , which was not always done; though it was reckoned by the Heathens contrary to the law of nations to give the kingdom to the younger ^F25.

1 Yoram gobierna en Judá
Cuando murió Josafat, lo enterraron con sus antepasados en la Ciudad de David. Después su hijo Yoram lo sucedió en el trono.

2 Los hermanos de Yoram —los otros hijos de Josafat— fueron Azarías, Jehiel, Zacarías, Azaryahu, Micael y Sefatías; todos estos fueron hijos de Josafat, rey de Judá.

4 Sin embargo, cuando Yoram se afianzó firmemente en el trono mató a todos sus hermanos y a algunos de los otros líderes de Judá.

5 Yoram tenía treinta y dos años cuando subió al trono y reinó en Jerusalén ocho años.
