11 »Ustedes se acercaron y se pararon al pie del monte mientras las llamas de fuego se elevaban hacia el cielo. El monte estaba envuelto en nubes negras y en una densa oscuridad.

Deuteronomy 4:11

And ye came near and stood under the mountain
At the foot of it, in the lower part of the mountain, as the Targum of Jonathan, and agrees with ( Exodus 19:17 )

and the mountain burnt with fire unto the midst of heaven;
the flame and smoke went up into the middle of the air: with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness; which thick darkness was occasioned partly by the smoke, which went up like the smoke of a furnace, and partly by the thick clouds, which were on the mount, and covered the face of the heavens, which were black and tempestuous with them; the Septuagint renders it a "tempest", ( Exodus 19:18 ) ( Hebrews 12:18 ) , which denotes the obscurity of the law, and the terrors it works in the minds of men.

9 »¡Pero cuidado! Asegúrate de nunca olvidar lo que viste con tus propios ojos. ¡No dejes que esas experiencias se te borren de la mente mientras vivas! Y asegúrate de trasmitirlas a tus hijos y a tus nietos.

10 Jamás te olvides del día que estuviste ante el Señor
tu Dios en el monte Sinaí,
donde él me dijo: “Convoca al pueblo para que se presente ante mí, y yo mismo lo instruiré. Entonces ellos aprenderán a temerme toda su vida y les enseñarán a sus hijos que también me teman”.

12 Entonces el Señor
les habló desde en medio del fuego. Ustedes oyeron el sonido de sus palabras pero no vieron ninguna figura; solo había una voz.

13 Él proclamó su pacto, los diez mandamientos,
los cuales escribió en dos tablas de piedra y les ordenó que los cumplieran.
