Numbers 20:2

And there was no water for the congregation
Which was so ordered, for the trial of this new generation, to see whether they would behave any better than their fathers had done in a like circumstance, the first year they came out of Egypt, ( Exodus 17:1-8 )

and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron;
just as their fathers had done before them, being of the like temper and disposition.

El primer mes del año,
toda la comunidad de Israel llegó al desierto de Zin y acampó en Cades. Mientras estaban allí, Miriam murió y la enterraron.

2 Ya que en ese lugar no había agua para que el pueblo bebiera, la gente se rebeló contra Moisés y Aarón.

3 El pueblo culpó a Moisés y dijo: «¡Si tan solo hubiéramos muerto con nuestros hermanos delante del Señor
!

4 ¿Por qué trajiste a la congregación del pueblo del Señor
a este desierto para morir, junto con todos nuestros animales?

5 ¿Por qué nos obligaste a salir de Egipto y nos trajiste a este terrible lugar? ¡Esta tierra no tiene grano ni higos ni uvas ni granadas ni agua para beber!».
