10 »”Por eso voy a enviarle una desgracia a la familia de Jeroboán. De sus descendientes en Israel exterminaré hasta el último varón,^[a] esclavo o libre. Barreré la descendencia de Jeroboán como se barre el estiércol, hasta no dejar rastro.

1 Kings 14:10

Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of
Jeroboam
Calamities, destruction, and ruin:

and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall;
not leave a dog of his, or rather a male, see ( 1 Samuel 25:22 )

and him that is shut up and left in Israel;
in garrisons or in prisons, in cities or in fields, or in whatsoever situation or circumstances they may be. Some interpret it of wealth and substance; it signifies an entire destruction it may be of men and goods, see ( Deuteronomy 32:36 )

and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man
taketh away dung, till it be all gone;
signifying that Jeroboam's family was as loathsome and abominable to the Lord as dung is to men; and that he would make as clean a riddance of them as men do of dung when they sweep it out, and will not leave the least scrap behind.

8 Le quité el reino a la familia de David para dártelo a ti. Tú, sin embargo, no has sido como mi siervo David, que cumplió mis mandamientos y me siguió con todo el corazón, haciendo solamente lo que me agrada.

9 Por el contrario, te has portado peor que todos los que vivieron antes de ti, al extremo de hacerte otros dioses, ídolos de metal; esto me enfurece, pues me has dado la espalda.

10 »”Por eso voy a enviarle una desgracia a la familia de Jeroboán. De sus descendientes en Israel exterminaré hasta el último varón, esclavo o libre. Barreré la descendencia de Jeroboán como se barre el estiércol, hasta no dejar rastro.

11 A los que mueran en la ciudad se los comerán los perros, y a los que mueran en el campo se los comerán las aves del cielo. ¡El SEÑOR lo ha dicho!”

12 »En cuanto a ti, vuelve a tu casa; el muchacho va a morir en cuanto llegues a la ciudad.
