27 Cuando Acab escuchó estas palabras, se rasgó las vestiduras, se vistió de luto y ayunó. Dormía vestido así y andaba deprimido.

Ver. 27 And it came to pass when Ahab heard these words
Delivered in ( 1 Kings 21:21-24 ) ,

that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon, his flesh,
tore off his clothes, and stripped himself of all, even of his very shirt, and put sackcloth on his bare flesh, a coarse cloth made of hair, and such as sacks are made with:

and fasted,
how long it is not said:

and lay in sackcloth;
in the night on his bed, would have no linen on him day nor night:

and went softly:
step by step, as persons mourning, grieving, and pensive, do; the Targum renders it "barefoot", and so Jarchi.

25 Nunca hubo nadie como Acab que, animado por Jezabel su esposa, se prestara para hacer lo que ofende al SEÑOR.

26 Su conducta fue repugnante, pues siguió a los ídolos, como lo habían hecho los amorreos, a quienes el SEÑOR expulsó de la presencia de Israel.

27 Cuando Acab escuchó estas palabras, se rasgó las vestiduras, se vistió de luto y ayunó. Dormía vestido así y andaba deprimido.

28 Entonces la palabra del SEÑOR vino a Elías el tisbita y le dio este mensaje:

29 «¿Has notado cómo Acab se ha humillado ante mí? Por cuanto se ha humillado, no enviaré esta desgracia mientras él viva, sino que la enviaré a su familia durante el reinado de su hijo».
