2 Pero en el tercer año Josafat, rey de Judá, fue a ver al rey de Israel,

1 Kings 22:2

And it came to pass in the third year
Of the peace, before it was expired:

that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel;
to Ahab, from Jerusalem to Samaria, reckoned thirty two miles ^F13; either to make peace with him, and put an end to the wars which subsisted between Israel and Judah since the division of the kingdom, ( 1 Kings 22:44 ) or to contract an affinity with him, by marrying his son to a daughter of Ahab, ( 2 Kings 8:18 2 Kings 8:26 ) or rather after peace was made, and that strengthened by the marriage; and so he went merely to pay a visit, as he judged he might then with great safety; and he and all his retinue were entertained by Ahab in a very sumptuous and liberal manner, ( 2 Chronicles 18:1 2 Chronicles 18:2 ) .

1 Durante tres años no hubo guerra entre Siria e Israel.

2 Pero en el tercer año Josafat, rey de Judá, fue a ver al rey de Israel,

3 el cual dijo a sus funcionarios: «¿No saben que Ramot de Galaad nos pertenece? ¡Y no hemos hecho nada para obligar al rey de Siria a que nos la devuelva!»

4 Así que le preguntó a Josafat:—¿Irías conmigo a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad?Josafat le respondió al rey de Israel:—Estoy a tu disposición, lo mismo que mi pueblo y mis caballos.

5 Pero antes que nada, consultemos al SEÑOR —añadió.
