2 Estos recorrieron todo el país convocando a los levitas de todos los pueblos de Judá y a los jefes de las familias de Israel, para que fueran a Jerusalén.

2 Chronicles 23:9

And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons,
&c.] To be their ministers and servants:

they [are] wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel:
even all of them entirely, none excepted; the whole tribe which were not in the priestly office; those were separated from the rest of the tribes of Israel, and appointed for the service of the priests: or they were "given, given" ^F17; which is repeated not only to show that they were wholly given, as we render it, but to denote the certainty of it, that they were really given; and especially to declare the freeness of the gift; the priests had them as free gifts, nor did they pay them any thing for, their service; they were maintained another way, namely, by the tithes of the people; and indeed the priests received a tithe out of the tithe of the Levites; so far were they from contributing any thing to their support, or in consideration of the service they did them.

1 En el séptimo año, el sacerdote Joyadá se armó de valor y convocó a los siguientes capitanes: Azarías hijo de Jeroán, Ismael hijo de Johanán, Azarías hijo de Obed, Maseías hijo de Adaías, y Elisafat hijo de Zicrí.

2 Estos recorrieron todo el país convocando a los levitas de todos los pueblos de Judá y a los jefes de las familias de Israel, para que fueran a Jerusalén.

3 Allí toda la asamblea reunida en el templo de Dios hizo un pacto con el rey.Joyadá les dijo: «Aquí tienen al hijo del rey. Él es quien debe reinar, tal como lo prometió el SEÑOR a los descendientes de David.

4 Así que hagan lo siguiente: Una tercera parte de ustedes, los sacerdotes y levitas que están de servicio el sábado, hará la guardia en las puertas;

5 otra tercera parte permanecerá en el palacio real, y la tercera parte restante ocupará la puerta de los Cimientos, mientras que todo el pueblo estará en los atrios del templo del SEÑOR.
