16 Abandonaron todos los mandamientos del SEÑOR su Dios, y se hicieron dos ídolos fundidos en forma de becerro y una imagen de la diosa Aserá. Se postraron ante todos los astros del cielo y adoraron a Baal;

2 Kings 17:16

And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God
Which their idolatry led them to; and indeed he that offends in one point is guilty of them all, ( James 2:10 )

and made them molten images, [even] two calves;
which they set up at Dan and Bethel, in the times of their first king Jeroboam, ( 1 Kings 13:28 1 Kings 13:29 )

and made a grove;
as Ahab, another of their kings, did, ( 1 Kings 16:33 )

and worshipped all the host of heaven:
not the angels, sometimes so called, but, besides the sun and moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Venus:

and served Baal;
which was service to the sun, as Abarbinel interprets it; this was the god of the Zidonians Ahab worshipped, having married a princess of that people, ( 1 Kings 16:31 1 Kings 16:32 ) .

14 Con todo, no hicieron caso, sino que fueron tan tercos como lo habían sido sus antepasados, que no confiaron en el SEÑOR su Dios.

15 Rechazaron los decretos y las advertencias del SEÑOR, y el pacto que él había hecho con sus antepasados. Se fueron tras ídolos inútiles, de modo que se volvieron inútiles ellos mismos; y aunque el SEÑOR lo había prohibido, siguieron las costumbres de las naciones vecinas.

16 Abandonaron todos los mandamientos del SEÑOR su Dios, y se hicieron dos ídolos fundidos en forma de becerro y una imagen de la diosa Aserá. Se postraron ante todos los astros del cielo y adoraron a Baal;

17 sacrificaron en el fuego a sus hijos e hijas; practicaron la adivinación y la hechicería; en fin, se entregaron a hacer lo que ofende al SEÑOR, provocando así su ira.

18 Por lo tanto, el SEÑOR se enojó mucho contra Israel y lo arrojó de su presencia. Solo quedó la tribu de Judá.
