18 Jorán hizo lo que ofende al SEÑOR, pues siguió el mal ejemplo de los reyes de Israel, como lo había hecho la familia de Acab, y llegó incluso a casarse con la hija de Acab.

2 Kings 8:18

And he walked in the way of the king's of Israel, as did the
house of Ahab
Imitated them in idolatry:

for the daughter of Ahab was his wife;
whose name was Athaliah, ( 2 Kings 8:26 ) , and by her he was drawn into idolatrous practices; of such bad consequence are marriages with idolaters; it is very much that so good a king as Jehoshaphat his father was should contract such an affinity; he suffered for it in more instances than one:

and he did evil in the sight of the Lord;
was guilty of idolatry, than which nothing was more displeasing to the Lord; for he made high places, and compelled his subjects to commit idolatry, ( 2 Chronicles 21:11 ) .

16 En el quinto año del reinado de Jorán hijo de Acab, rey de Israel y contemporáneo de Josafat, rey de Judá, Jorán hijo de Josafat ascendió al trono de Judá.

17 Tenía treinta y dos años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén ocho años.

18 Jorán hizo lo que ofende al SEÑOR, pues siguió el mal ejemplo de los reyes de Israel, como lo había hecho la familia de Acab, y llegó incluso a casarse con la hija de Acab.

19 Pero el SEÑOR no quiso destruir a Judá por consideración a su siervo David, pues le había prometido mantener encendida para siempre una lámpara para él y sus descendientes.

20 En tiempos de Jorán, los edomitas se sublevaron contra Judá y se nombraron su propio rey.
