7 Luego Eliseo se fue a Damasco. Ben Adad, rey de Siria, estaba enfermo, y cuando le avisaron que el hombre de Dios había llegado,

2 Kings 8:7

And Elisha came to Damascus
On what account, and when, is not certain, whether to convert Gehazi, as say the Jews ^F4; or to confirm Naaman in the true religion he professed, for which he might be dismissed from his office, since another man was made general of the Syrian army; or on account of the famine; or rather it may be to anoint, or, however, to declare that Hazael would be king of Syria; see ( 1 Kings 19:15 ) ,

and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick;
at the time he came thither, where his palace was, and now a Mahometan temple; a very extraordinary building, according to Benjamin the Jew ^F5:

and it was told him, saying, the man of God is come hither;
the famous prophet in Israel, Elisha, through whom Naaman his general had been cured of his leprosy, of whom he had heard so much.

5 Y precisamente cuando Guiezi le contaba al rey que Eliseo había revivido al niño muerto, la madre llegó para rogarle al rey que le devolviera su casa y sus tierras. Así que Guiezi dijo:—Mi señor y rey, esta es la mujer, y este es el hijo que Eliseo revivió.

6 El rey le hizo preguntas a la mujer, y ella se lo contó todo. Entonces el rey le ordenó a un funcionario que se encargara de ella y le dijo:—Devuélvele todo lo que le pertenecía, incluso todas las ganancias que hayan producido sus tierras, desde el día en que salió del país hasta hoy.

7 Luego Eliseo se fue a Damasco. Ben Adad, rey de Siria, estaba enfermo, y cuando le avisaron que el hombre de Dios había llegado,

8 le ordenó a Jazael: «Llévale un regalo al hombre de Dios. Cuando lo veas, consulta al SEÑOR por medio de él para saber si me voy a recuperar de esta enfermedad».

9 Jazael fue a ver a Eliseo, y como regalo le llevó de las mejores mercancías de Damasco, cargadas en cuarenta camellos. Cuando llegó, se presentó ante él y le dijo:—Ben Adad, rey de Siria, su servidor, me ha enviado para preguntarle si él se va a recuperar de su enfermedad.
