7 Y si alguno se ha comprometido con una mujer y no se ha casado, que regrese a su pueblo, no sea que muera en batalla y sea otro el que se case con ella”.

Deuteronomy 20:7

And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not
taken her?
&c.] Home to his house and bedded with her; has only betrothed her, but is not properly married to her, the nuptials are not completed; this the Jews understand of anyone betrothed to him, whether a virgin or a widow, or the wife of a deceased brother (yea, they say, if his brother is dead in war, he returns and comes home), but not of a former wife divorced and received again ^F13:

let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in battle, and
another man take her;
or marry her.

5 »Luego los oficiales le dirán al ejército: “Si alguno de ustedes ha construido una casa nueva y no la ha estrenado, que vuelva a su casa, no sea que muera en batalla y otro la estrene.

6 Y si alguno ha plantado una viña y no ha disfrutado de las uvas, que vuelva a su finca, no sea que muera en batalla y sea otro el que disfrute de ellas.

7 Y si alguno se ha comprometido con una mujer y no se ha casado, que regrese a su pueblo, no sea que muera en batalla y sea otro el que se case con ella”.

8 Y añadirán los oficiales: “Si alguno de ustedes es miedoso o cobarde, que vuelva a su casa, no sea que desanime también a sus hermanos”.

9 Cuando los oficiales hayan terminado de hablar, nombrarán capitanes que dirijan el ejército.
