Jeremiah 16:14

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord
Or nevertheless, "notwithstanding" ^F4 their sins and iniquities, and the punishment brought upon them for them: or "surely", verily; for Jarchi says it is an oath, with which the Lord swore he would redeem them, though they had behaved so ill unto him: that it shall no more be said, the Lord liveth, that brought up the
children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
this was the form of an oath with the Jews, when a man, as Kimchi observes, used to swear by the living God that brought Israel out of Egypt; or this was a fact which they used frequently to make mention of, and relate to their children; and observe to them the power and goodness of God in it; and so the Targum,

``there shall be no more any declaring the power of the Lord who brought up''

12 Pero ustedes se han comportado peor que sus antepasados. Cada uno sigue la terquedad de su corazón malvado, y no me ha obedecido.

13 Por eso los voy a arrojar de esta tierra, a un país que ni ustedes ni sus antepasados conocieron, y allí servirán a otros dioses día y noche. No les tendré clemencia”.

14 »Por eso —afirma el SEÑOR—, vienen días en que ya no se dirá: “Por la vida del SEÑOR, que hizo salir a los israelitas de la tierra de Egipto”,

15 sino: “Por la vida del SEÑOR, que hizo salir a los israelitas de la tierra del norte, y de todos los países adonde los había expulsado”. Yo los haré volver a su tierra, la que antes di a sus antepasados.

16 »Voy a enviar a muchos pescadores —afirma el SEÑOR—, y ellos los pescarán a ustedes. Después, enviaré a muchos cazadores, y ellos los cazarán a ustedes por todas las montañas y colinas, y por las grietas de las rocas.
