Jeremiah 34:4

Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah
Which, though a king, he ought to hearken to; and, besides, what follows was for comfort, being a mitigation of his sentence, and containing in it mercy, as well as judgment: thus saith the Lord of thee, thou shalt not die by the sword:
of the king of Babylon; or a violent death; and therefore fear not to deliver up thyself and city into his hands; which he might be twelfth to do, fearing he would put him to death immediately.

2 «Así dice el SEÑOR, el Dios de Israel: “Ve y adviértele a Sedequías, rey de Judá, que así dice el SEÑOR: ‘Voy a entregar esta ciudad en manos del rey de Babilonia, quien la incendiará.

3 Y tú no te escaparás de su poder, porque ciertamente serás capturado y entregado en sus manos. Tus ojos verán los ojos del rey de Babilonia, y él te hablará cara a cara, y serás llevado a Babilonia’.

4 »”No obstante, Sedequías, rey de Judá, escucha la promesa del SEÑOR para ti. Así dice el SEÑOR: ‘Tú no morirás a filo de espada

5 sino en paz’. También afirma el SEÑOR: ‘Yo te prometo que, así como los reyes de antaño que te precedieron quemaron especias por tus antepasados, así también lo harán en tu funeral, lamentándose por ti y clamando: ¡Ay, señor!’”»

6 El profeta Jeremías dijo todo esto a Sedequías, rey de Judá, en Jerusalén.
