Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
] This is repeated again, not only to assure the truth of the thing, but to raise the attention of the mind unto it, and fix an awful impression upon it: the Persic version renders it, "from whence thou shall never find redemption": there is no redemption from hell, as Origen and others have thought.

47 Y si tu ojo te hace pecar, sácatelo. Más te vale entrar tuerto en el reino de Dios, que ser arrojado con los dos ojos al infierno,
48 donde»“su gusano no muere,y el fuego no se apaga”.
49 La sal con que todos serán sazonados es el fuego.
50 »La sal es buena, pero si deja de ser salada, ¿cómo le pueden volver a dar sabor? Que no falte la sal entre ustedes, para que puedan vivir en paz unos con otros.
