Balac se encuentra con Balán

36 Cuando Balac se enteró de que Balán venía, salió a recibirlo en una ciudad moabita que está en la frontera del río Arnón.

Numbers 22:36

And when Balak heard that Balaam was come
Messengers being sent to acquaint him with it, either by Balaam, or by the princes:

he went out to meet him;
overjoyed at the news that his princes had succeeded, and to show him respect, and do him honour, and all to encourage him to do his utmost for him:

unto a city of Moab, which is in the border of Arnon, which is in the
utmost coast;
by the situation of it, being on the border of the river Arnon, which river was in the extreme parts of Moab, and divided between the Moabites and Amorites, it is generally thought to be the city Ar, called "Ar of Moab", see ( Numbers 21:13 Numbers 21:28 ) , and the king coming to meet Balaam so far as the uttermost border of his dominions showed the greater respect to him.

34 Balán le dijo al ángel del SEÑOR:—He pecado. No me di cuenta de tu presencia en el camino para cerrarme el paso. Ahora bien, como esto te parece mal, voy a regresar.

35 Pero el ángel del SEÑOR le dijo a Balán:—Ve con ellos, pero limítate a decir solo lo que yo te mande.Y Balán se fue con los jefes que Balac había enviado.

36 Cuando Balac se enteró de que Balán venía, salió a recibirlo en una ciudad moabita que está en la frontera del río Arnón.

37 Balac le dijo a Balán:—¿Acaso no te mandé llamar? ¿Por qué no viniste a mí? ¿Crees que no soy capaz de recompensarte?

38 —¡Bueno, ya estoy aquí! —contestó Balán—. Solo que no podré decir nada que Dios no ponga en mi boca.
