Otoniel

7 Los israelitas hicieron lo que ofende al SE脩OR; se olvidaron del SE脩OR su Dios, y adoraron a las im谩genes de Baal y de Aser谩.
8 El SE脩OR se enfureci贸 contra Israel a tal grado que los vendi贸 a Cus谩n Risatayin, rey de Aram Najarayin,[a] a quien estuvieron sometidos durante ocho a帽os.
9 Pero clamaron al SE脩OR, y 茅l hizo que surgiera un libertador, Otoniel hijo de Quenaz, hermano menor de Caleb. Y Otoniel liber贸 a los israelitas.
10 El Esp铆ritu del SE脩OR vino sobre Otoniel, y as铆 Otoniel se convirti贸 en caudillo de Israel y sali贸 a la guerra. El SE脩OR entreg贸 a Cus谩n Risatayin, rey de Aram, en manos de Otoniel, quien prevaleci贸 sobre 茅l.
11 El pa铆s tuvo paz durante cuarenta a帽os, hasta que muri贸 Otoniel hijo de Quenaz.

INTRODUCTION TO JUDGES 3

This chapter gives an account of the nations left in Canaan to prove Israel, and who became a snare unto them, Jud 3:1-7; and of the servitude of Israel under the king of Mesopotamia for their sins, from which they were delivered by Othniel, Jud 3:8-11; and of their subjection to the Moabites, from which they were freed by Ehud, who privately assassinated the king of Moab, and then made his escape, Jud 3:12-30; and of the destruction of a large number of Philistines by Shamgar, with an ox goad, Jud 3:31.
