A Oração de Ana

1 Então Ana orou assim:“Meu coração exulta no SENHOR;no SENHOR minha força^[a] é exaltada.Minha boca se exalta sobre os meus inimigos,pois me alegro em tua libertação.

2 “Não há ninguém santo^[b] como o SENHOR;não há outro além de ti;não há rocha alguma como o nosso Deus.

3 “Não falem tão orgulhosamente,nem saia de sua boca tal arrogância,pois o SENHOR é Deus sábio;é ele quem julga os atos dos homens.

4 “O arco dos fortes é quebrado,mas os fracos são revestidos de força.

5 Os que tinham muito agora trabalham por comida,mas os que estavam famintos agora não passam fome.A que era estéril deu à luz sete filhos,mas a que tinha muitos filhos ficou sem vigor.

6 “O SENHOR mata e preserva a vida;ele faz descer à sepultura^[c] e dela resgata.

7 O SENHOR é quem dá pobreza e riqueza;ele humilha e exalta.

8 Levanta do pó o necessitadoe do monte de cinzas ergue o pobre;ele os faz sentar-se com príncipese lhes dá lugar de honra.“Pois os alicerces da terra são do SENHOR;sobre eles estabeleceu o mundo.

9 Ele guardará os pés dos seus santos,mas os ímpios serão silenciados nas trevas,“pois não é pela força que o homem prevalece.

10 Aqueles que se opõem ao SENHOR serão despedaçados.Ele trovejará do céu contra eles;o SENHOR julgará até os confins da terra.“Ele dará poder a seu reie exaltará a força do seu ungido”.

INTRODUCTION TO FIRST SAMUEL 2

In this chapter the song of Hannah is recorded, 1Sa 2:1-10, and an account is given of the return of Elkanah and Hannah to their own home, and of the care she took yearly to provide a coat for Samuel, and of her being blessed with many other children, and of the growth and ministry of Samuel before the Lord, 1Sa 2:11,18-21,26, and of the wickedness of the sons of Eli, 1Sa 2:12-17, and of Eli's too gentle treatment of them when he reproved them for it, 1Sa 2:22-25 and of a sharp message sent him from the Lord on that account, threatening destruction to his house, of which the death of his two sons would be a sign, 1Sa 2:27-36.
