Deuteronomy 14:4

These are the beasts which they shall eat
That is, which they might lawfully eat of, which were allowed for their food; for they were not obliged to eat of them if they did not choose it:

the ox, the sheep, and the goat;
which were creatures used in sacrifice, and the only ones, yet nevertheless they might be used for food if chosen.

2 pois vocês são povo consagrado ao SENHOR, o seu Deus. Dentre todos os povos da face da terra, o SENHOR os escolheu para serem o seu tesouro pessoal.

3 “Não comam nada que seja proibido.

4 São estes os animais que vocês podem comer: o boi, a ovelha, o bode,

5 o veado, a gazela, a corça, o bode montês, o antílope, o bode selvagem e a ovelha montês.

6 Vocês poderão comer qualquer animal que tenha o casco fendido e dividido em duas unhas e que rumine.
