Ezekiel 15:1

And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying.
] The destruction of Jerusalem had been represented under various types and similes before, as of a siege, and a sharp razor; and here of a fruitless and useless vine, only fit for the fire; which was delivered out by a spirit of prophecy. The Targum calls it the word of prophecy, as usual.

1 A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim. Disse ele:
2 “Filho do homem, em que a madeira da videira é melhor do que o galho de qualquer árvore da floresta?
3 Alguma vez a madeira dela é usada para fazer algo útil? Alguém faz suportes com ela para neles pendurar coisas?
4 E, depois de lançada no fogo como combustível e o fogo queimar as duas extremidades e carbonizar o meio, servirá para alguma coisa?
5 Se não foi útil para coisa alguma enquanto estava inteira, muito menos o será quando o fogo a queimar e ela estiver carbonizada.
