John 19:16

Then delivered he him therefore
Perceiving he could not by any means work upon them, and that nothing would satisfy them but his death; he therefore passed sentence on him, and gave him up to their will,

unto them to be crucified;
as they requested, and which was done in a judicial way, and all by divine appointment, according to the counsel and foreknowledge of God:

and they took Jesus and led him away;
directly from the judgment hall, out of the city to the place of execution, whither he was led as a lamb to the slaughter, without opening his mouth against God or man; but behaved with the utmost patience, meekness, and resignation.

14 Era o Dia da Preparação na semana da Páscoa, por volta das seis horas da manhã.“Eis o rei de vocês”, disse Pilatos aos judeus.

15 Mas eles gritaram: “Mata! Mata! Crucifica-o!”“Devo crucificar o rei de vocês?”, perguntou Pilatos.“Não temos rei, senão César”, responderam os chefes dos sacerdotes.

16 Finalmente Pilatos o entregou a eles para ser crucificado.Então os soldados encarregaram-se de Jesus.

17 Levando a sua própria cruz, ele saiu para o lugar chamado Caveira (que em aramaico é chamado Gólgota).

18 Ali o crucificaram, e com ele dois outros, um de cada lado de Jesus.
