1 Pablo, llamado a ser apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y Sóstenes, nuestro hermano,

Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, a los que han sido santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados a ser santos, con todos los que en cualquier parte invocan el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Señor de ellos y nuestro:

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
3 Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Siempre doy gracias a mi Dios por vosotros, por la gracia de Dios que os fue dada en Cristo Jesús,

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
5 porque en todo fuisteis enriquecidos en El, en toda palabra y en todo conocimiento,

that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge,
6 así como el testimonio acerca de Cristo fue confirmado en vosotros;
6
even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you,
7 de manera que nada os falta en ningún don, esperando ansiosamente la revelación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo;

so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
8 el cual también os confirmará hasta el fin, para que seáis irreprensibles en el día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Fiel es Dios, por medio de quien fuisteis llamados a la comunión con su Hijo Jesucristo, Señor nuestro.

God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord .
10 Os ruego, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que todos os pongáis de acuerdo, y que no haya divisiones entre vosotros, sino que estéis enteramente unidos en un mismo sentir y en un mismo parecer.

Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 Porque he sido informado acerca de vosotros, hermanos míos, por los de Cloé, que hay contiendas entre vosotros.

For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you.
12 Me refiero a que cada uno de vosotros dice: Yo soy de Pablo, yo de Apolos, yo de Cefas, yo de Cristo.

Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ."
13 ¿Está dividido Cristo? ¿Acaso fue Pablo crucificado por vosotros? ¿O fuisteis bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?

Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 Doy gracias a Dios que no bauticé a ninguno de vosotros, excepto a Crispo y a Gayo,

I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
15 para que nadie diga que fuisteis bautizados en mi nombre.
15
so that no one would say you were baptized in my name.
16 También bauticé a los de la casa de Estéfanas; por lo demás, no sé si bauticé a algún otro.

Now I did baptize also the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other.
17 Pues Cristo no me envió a bautizar, sino a predicar el evangelio, no con palabras elocuentes, para que no se haga vana la cruz de Cristo.

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made void.
18 Porque la palabra de la cruz es necedad para los que se pierden, pero para nosotros los salvos es poder de Dios.

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 Porque está escrito: DESTRUIRE LA SABIDURIA DE LOS SABIOS, Y EL ENTENDIMIENTO DE LOS INTELIGENTES DESECHARE.

For it is written, "I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE."
20 ¿Dónde está el sabio? ¿Dónde el escriba? ¿Dónde el polemista de este siglo? ¿No ha hecho Dios que la sabiduría de este mundo sea necedad?

Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21 Porque ya que en la sabiduría de Dios el mundo no conoció a Dios por medio de su propia sabiduría, agradó a Dios, mediante la necedad de la predicación, salvar a los que creen.

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 Porque en verdad los judíos piden señales y los griegos buscan sabiduría;
22
For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;
23 pero nosotros predicamos a Cristo crucificado, piedra de tropiezo para los judíos, y necedad para los gentiles;
23
but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,
24 mas para los llamados, tanto judíos como griegos, Cristo es poder de Dios y sabiduría de Dios.

but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25 Porque la necedad de Dios es más sabia que los hombres, y la debilidad de Dios es más fuerte que los hombres.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 Pues considerad, hermanos, vuestro llamamiento; no hubo muchos sabios conforme a la carne, ni muchos poderosos, ni muchos nobles;
26
For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;
27 sino que Dios ha escogido lo necio del mundo, para avergonzar a los sabios; y Dios ha escogido lo débil del mundo, para avergonzar a lo que es fuerte;
27
but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,
28 y lo vil y despreciado del mundo ha escogido Dios; lo que no es, para anular lo que es;
28
and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,
29 para que nadie se jacte delante de Dios.

so that no man may boast before God.
30 Mas por obra suya estáis vosotros en Cristo Jesús, el cual se hizo para nosotros sabiduría de Dios, y justificación, y santificación, y redención,
30
But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
31 para que, tal como está escrito: EL QUE SE GLORIA, QUE SE GLORIE EN EL SEÑOR.

so that, just as it is written, "LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD ."
