1 Sed imitadores de mí, como también yo lo soy de Cristo.

Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.
2 Os alabo porque en todo os acordáis de mí y guardáis las tradiciones con firmeza, tal como yo os las entregué.

Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I delivered them to you.
3 Pero quiero que sepáis que la cabeza de todo hombre es Cristo, y la cabeza de la mujer es el hombre, y la cabeza de Cristo es Dios.

But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.
4 Todo hombre que cubre su cabeza mientras ora o profetiza, deshonra su cabeza.

Every man who has something on his head while praying or prophesying disgraces his head.
5 Pero toda mujer que tiene la cabeza descubierta mientras ora o profetiza, deshonra su cabeza; porque se hace una con la que está rapada.

But every woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying disgraces her head, for she is one and the same as the woman whose head is shaved.
6 Porque si la mujer no se cubre la cabeza, que también se corte el cabello; pero si es deshonroso para la mujer cortarse el cabello, o raparse, que se cubra.

For if a woman does not cover her head, let her also have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her head.
7 Pues el hombre no debe cubrirse la cabeza, ya que él es la imagen y gloria de Dios; pero la mujer es la gloria del hombre.

For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.
8 Porque el hombre no procede de la mujer, sino la mujer del hombre;

For man does not originate from woman, but woman from man;
9 pues en verdad el hombre no fue creado a causa de la mujer, sino la mujer a causa del hombre.

for indeed man was not created for the woman's sake, but woman for the man's sake.
10 Por tanto, la mujer debe tener un símbolo de autoridad sobre la cabeza, por causa de los ángeles.

Therefore the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
11 Sin embargo, en el Señor, ni la mujer es independiente del hombre, ni el hombre independiente de la mujer.

However, in the Lord , neither is woman independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.
12 Porque así como la mujer procede del hombre, también el hombre nace de la mujer; y todas las cosas proceden de Dios.

For as the woman originates from the man, so also the man has his birth through the woman; and all things originate from God.
13 Juzgad vosotros mismos: ¿es propio que la mujer ore a Dios con la cabeza descubierta?

Judge for yourselves : is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?
14 ¿No os enseña la misma naturaleza que si el hombre tiene el cabello largo le es deshonra,

Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him,
15 pero que si la mujer tiene el cabello largo le es una gloria? Pues a ella el cabello le es dado por velo.

but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her for a covering.
16 Pero si alguno parece ser contencioso, nosotros no tenemos tal costumbre, ni la tienen las iglesias de Dios.

But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.
17 Pero al daros estas instrucciones, no os alabo, porque no os congregáis para lo bueno, sino para lo malo.

But in giving this instruction, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse.
18 Pues, en primer lugar, oigo que cuando os reunís como iglesia hay divisiones entre vosotros; y en parte lo creo.

For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it.
19 Porque es necesario que entre vosotros haya bandos, a fin de que se manifiesten entre vosotros los que son aprobados.

For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you.
20 Por tanto, cuando os reunís, esto ya no es comer la cena del Señor,

Therefore when you meet together , it is not to eat the Lord's Supper,
21 porque al comer, cada uno toma primero su propia cena; y uno pasa hambre y otro se embriaga.

for in your eating each one takes his own supper first; and one is hungry and another is drunk.
22 ¿Qué? ¿No tenéis casas para comer y beber? ¿O menospreciáis la iglesia de Dios y avergonzáis a los que nada tienen? ¿Qué os diré? ¿Os alabaré? En esto no os alabaré.

What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I will not praise you.
23 Porque yo recibí del Señor lo mismo que os he enseñado: que el Señor Jesús, la noche en que fue entregado, tomó pan,

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread;
24 y después de dar gracias, lo partió y dijo: Esto es mi cuerpo que es para vosotros; haced esto en memoria de mí.
24
and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
25 De la misma manera tomó también la copa después de haber cenado, diciendo: Esta copa es el nuevo pacto en mi sangre; haced esto cuantas veces la bebáis en memoria de mí.

In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
26 Porque todas las veces que comáis este pan y bebáis esta copa, la muerte del Señor proclamáis hasta que El venga.

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.
27 De manera que el que coma el pan o beba la copa del Señor indignamente, será culpable del cuerpo y de la sangre del Señor.

Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord .
28 Por tanto, examínese cada uno a sí mismo, y entonces coma del pan y beba de la copa.

But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29 Porque el que come y bebe sin discernir correctamente el cuerpo del Señor, come y bebe juicio para sí.

For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
30 Por esta razón hay muchos débiles y enfermos entre vosotros, y muchos duermen .

For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.
31 Pero si nos juzgáramos a nosotros mismos, no seríamos juzgados.
31
But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.
32 Pero cuando somos juzgados, el Señor nos disciplina para que no seamos condenados con el mundo.

But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
33 Así que, hermanos míos, cuando os reunáis para comer, esperaos unos a otros.

So then, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
34 Si alguno tiene hambre, coma en su casa, para que no os reunáis para juicio. Los demás asuntos los arreglaré cuando vaya.

If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you will not come together for judgment. The remaining matters I will arrange when I come.
