1 Corinthians 3:1-9

NIV 1 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. NRS 1 And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. NIV 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. NRS 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for solid food. Even now you are still not ready, NIV 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? NRS 3 for you are still of the flesh. For as long as there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving according to human inclinations? NIV 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings? NRS 4 For when one says, "I belong to Paul," and another, "I belong to Apollos," are you not merely human? NIV 5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. NRS 5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord assigned to each. NIV 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. NRS 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. NIV 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. NRS 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. NIV 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. NRS 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each. NIV 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. NRS 9 For we are God's servants, working together; you are God's field, God's building.
