1 John 1

CEB 1 We announce to you what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have seen and our hands handled, about the word of life. NRS 1 We declare to you what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— CEB 2 The life was revealed, and we have seen, and we testify and announce to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us. NRS 2 this life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us— CEB 3 What we have seen and heard, we also announce it to you so that you can have fellowship with us. Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. NRS 3 we declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. CEB 4 We are writing these things so that our joy can be complete. NRS 4 We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete. CEB 5 This is the message that we have heard from him and announce to you: "God is light and there is no darkness in him at all." NRS 5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. CEB 6 If we claim, "We have fellowship with him," and live in the darkness, we are lying and do not act truthfully. NRS 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true; CEB 7 But if we live in the light in the same way as he is in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin. NRS 7 but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. CEB 8 If we claim, "We don't have any sin," we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. NRS 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. CEB 9 But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from everything we've done wrong. NRS 9 If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. CEB 10 If we claim, "We have never sinned," we make him a liar and his word is not in us. NRS 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
