1 Peter 3:8-12

MSG 8 Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. NIV 8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. MSG 9 That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless - that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing. NIV 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. MSG 10 Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, Here's what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; NIV 10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. MSG 11 Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you're worth. NIV 11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. MSG 12 God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he's asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things. NIV 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
