1 John 5:15-21

KJV 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. NIV 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. KJV 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. NIV 16 If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. KJV 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. NIV 17 All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. KJV 18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. NIV 18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. KJV 19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. NIV 19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. KJV 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. NIV 20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. KJV 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. NIV 21 Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
