1 Peter 5:5-11

NLT 5 In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” NIV 5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” NLT 6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. NIV 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. NLT 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. NIV 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. NLT 8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. NIV 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. NLT 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. NIV 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. NLT 10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. NIV 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. NLT 11 All power to him forever! Amen. NIV 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.
